"Ho visto un prato" is a song written by Gianni Rodari, and sung by Sergio Endrigo.It is about a girl who lives in the city and has never seen a meadow with grass or tick one violet and imagines how it might be spring.
We students of class IF have represented this song with our designs and have sung it. At the end, with the teacher, we have used Photo To Movie and we have reconstructed it.We invite you to look at our masterpiece and hope you like it.

The origins of this feast are lost over the centuries and peoples, to go back to the ancient Greeks and ancient Romans, who at this time of celebrating the divinity related to fertility.
It is in May, in fact, that the awakening of nature becomes more evident and joyful, full of colors and fragrances, circulated by the first hot air.
The world and pastoral, whose life was deeply tied to the seasons and climate, could only greet with feasts and festivals the end of winter, and the next maturing crops, carefully prepared during the coldest months. In Italy, Mother's Day was celebrated for the first time in 1957 by Don Otello Migliosi in Assisi, in the small village of Tordibetto of which he was pastor. In the past in Italy Mother's Day fell regularly the May 8, until was decided to fix the second Sunday of May, adopting the American date.On the occasion of this anniversary the children bring flowers, sweets, gifts and small attention to their mothers.

TRANSLATION TO ENGLISH: WITH ALL THE HEART

This is the story of eighteen small hearts that beat without resting. The 3oth of January was near, The day of Peace, and between all decided to join their heartbeats.
-Why? asked ones.
-It´s difficult. We don´t know how to listen. Said others.
The days passed without a decision.
Then, the decision was taken by the own nature: It roared with hard a sad day in a far and poor country, that its pain touched all our hearts.
Paco, one of the little heart had da dady near the tragedy helping to those far and poor children. Between all, we thought we should send all our afection to all of them.
The little hearts had a reason to beat as one: "TO SEND A DESIRE OF LOVE AND PEACE TO ALL THE LITTLE HEARTS OF HAITI, THAT FAR AND POOR COUNTRY".

TRANSLATION TO ENGLISH: PAUL AND JOAN

Once upon a time there was a happy village called El Toboso. All the children played in the park. They loved and respected each other.
One day, one of them called Paul began to discuss with his friend Joan. In that moment a dove appears and said them:
-"Hello, I am the Peace! Why do you fight? It is not necessary."
-Paul stole my toy that he gave me as a pressent yesterday. Said Joan.
-That is not true. Said Paul. - You are a liar.
The dove said the two boys:
- It is not necessary to insult. You must solve your problems speaking. You two should be nicer.
Joan and Paul continued fighting and discussing, then the dove proposed them to go to a country called "Guerrilandia".
When they arrived there, They were very frightened becasue all the peaple was fighting, discussing and quarreling, they pulled of the hair, lied and they only love themselves.
Then Paul said:
- I don´t want to be in this way. I would like all get on well with each other and I hope not to be in that situation.
After, the dove tool them to other country called "Fantasy". There all people loved and respect each other. The dove said them:
-Do you like this country? Why don´t you try to be more generous?
Then, the two boys noticed what they were doing wrong and that they should be nicer with the rest of the people to be happier.
Paul and Joan show the children of El Toboso the meaning of love and friendship.
Paul gave Joan the toy and Joan asked Paul if he wanted to play with him because it's better to play with a friend that to play alone.
And then, all the two friends understand the importance of friendship and getting on well with the rest of the people.
And this is the end of the story.

Mărţişor is a traditional celebration of the beginning of Spring, on the1 st of March It is a tradition in Romania and all territories inhabited by Romanias. Similar customs are found in Bulgaria ( Macedonia, Albania, Italy)

The name Mărţişor is the diminutive of the name for March (Martie, in Romanian), and thus literally means "little" or "dear March". It is also the folk name for this month.

Mărţişor, marţ and mărţiguş are all names for the red and white (or black and white, also blue and white) string, from which usually a small decoration is tied, and which is offered by people on the 1st day of March. Giving this Talisman to other people is an old custom, and it is believed that the one who wears the red and white string will be powerful and healthy for the year to come. It is also a symbol of the coming spring. Usually, women wear it pinned to their blouses for the first 12 days of this month, until other certain spring celebrations, or until the bloom of certain fruit-trees. In some regions, a gold or silver coin is hanged from the string, which they wear it around the neck. After wearing it for a certain period of time, they buy red wine and sweet cheese with the coin, according to the belief that their faces would remain beautiful and white as cheese, and rubicund as the red wine, for the entire year.

The Mărţişor is a talisman (amulet) made of knitted threads (wool, cotton, or silk). Nowadays, the most popular version of it is made of red and white threads, but in some regions it is still made of black and white, or even blue and white.(sursa Wikipedia)

Today , the school boys offered girls amulets.
Great joy on both sides. Each girl received many amulets 16 (number of boys in class). They wear martisoarele the entire month of March, then Martisor will be caught by the branches of a fruit tree. It is said that this tree will bring plenty of people in the house.
It is further said that if someone puts a wish while hanging Martisor tree, it will come true at once.

Do you know why the dress of Harlequin is made of many color? Read this story and you'll know.

There was once a child, called Harlequin, very poor man who lived with his mother in a humble cottage. For Carnival, the teacher organized a nice party and offered to all children to dress in masks. Harlequin's friends decided to dress in the last day of carnival masks with clothes sewn by their mothers. Harlequin was sad because his mother, who was a widow and poor, could not buy the fabric for his dress. The mothers of the friends of Harlequin gave her scraps of cloth, then so could the mother do the dress to Harlequin . On the morning of Shrove Tuesday, when Harlequin entered the class greeted him with thunderous applause because her dress was not only the most 'beautiful but also' the most original.

In our tradition the period from January 17 until the Tuesday preceding Ash Wednesday (Shrove Tuesday) is dedicated to the Carnival. The spirit of this holiday is expressed by an old proverb "a carnevale ogni scherzo vale" (a carnival every joke is good), in fact every one forget everyday problems and, protected by the mask that makes it unrecognizable, is free to laugh and eat their fill. Carnival has origins in ancient Rome where there were several celebrations in honor of the gods, along the streets of the city and that included the use of masks. Towards the end of the sixteenth century, in Italy born the "Commedia dell'arte", which used the Italian masks, ie characters that reappear in every comedy with the same name, the same costume, the makeup or masks, the same language. These characters, like Harlequin, Pantalone, Colombina, Dr Balanzone, Pulcinella became famous throughout Europe. Disappeared over time from the scene of the theater, the masks have survived only in festivals and masked carnival. The six January we celebrated the Epiphany. This day ends the Christmas period. According to the Catholic religion Epiphany recalls the arrival of the Three Wise Men to the Child Jesus. This is a special holiday for children. Indeed we imagine the Befana as an ancient Santa Claus-like figure whose name means "giver of gifts" and appears as a friendly old witch who rides through the air on a broomstick, dropping through chimneys to fill up with stockings toys and candy. All we use to write a letter to Befana to ask for gifts. However Befana is a bit like our court. In fact, she brings sweets and toys to children during the year were good and ash and coal to bads. So in the morning of Epiphany we never know what we will find in our sock and the night before we are all a little worried.

The Scottish Brownie

Brownie
Good-natured, invisible brown elves or household goblins who live in farmhouses and other country dwellings in Scotland. While people are asleep, they perform their labors for them. They are known to be protective creatures and they become attached to a certain place of family. Even if the family should move to another continent, the brownies will accompany them in their migration. If offered payment for their services or if they are treated badly, they disappear and are never seen again.
The little hairy brownies, with their flat faces and pinhole nostrils, are not very attractive, but their happy smiles and extrovert characters makes up for that. The innocent nature of children allows them to see the brownies, but disbelieving adults will never get a glimpse of them. This however does not prevent the brownies from helping adults in countless minor ways.

The origins of the nativity are definitely Christian and go back to a tradition of the second century AD, to commemorate the birth of Jesus in the stable at Bethlehem, where it was believed that he was born. In the Gospel of Saint Luke it is said that Mary, having given birth, the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid him in a "Presepe", ie in a manger, which suggests a barn. Festival of the habits and customs of Winter Marmatia is one of the most important events that hosting Sighet(town situated 70 km from Baia Mare), which aims to be, as stated in the first edition of the Carnival and festival county winter habits and customs of Maramures, my region, (27 -28 December)"an opportunity and a way to print the same time a new content and a sense of ancient traditions and customs, to harness and present everything Maramures most lasting and most authentic folk art forging generations of these wonderful people in the north of our country. This goal has been preserved to time, the festival has become "a habit, a sign of ground, evidence of creative power and permanence, but a sign of spiritual solidarity, unity and continuity of our entire Romanian land" managed to inform national and international public on the traditions, costumes and habits of winter (carols and games with masks) developed from Christmas to Epiphany.
The festival is done without interruption since 1969, around the date of December 27, the year 2008 is the 40th edition, in which I participated, too.

Mythical Christmas Goblins-Korinth-GREECE

The “Kallikantzari” are malicious goblins.

They live below the ground all year while they saw at the trunk of a huge tree on which rests the foundations of the world. Just when they have nearly sawn through the trunk which would make the earth collapse, they are lured to the surface by the Christmas celebrations.
They are above ground from the 25 December until the 6th of January (winter solstice). On the 6th January when all of Greece celebrates Epiphany the Priests blessings and the sprinkling of holy water around the house on this day banishes the Kallikantzari back to the underworld. During their absence from the underworld the tree has healed itself and they have to start sawing at the tree all over again and again and this is repeated every year.
During the 12 days they are on earth they are blamed for all kinds of mishaps around the house. I think this is just wonderful. There is someone else to blame during this time when housewives are usually under pressure to get everything prepared for the celebration, the house if full of children and visitors and things can get a bit hectic. So to have some goblin to blame for whatever goes wrong seems a wonderful idea. The Kallikantzari are only around at night, they disappear as soon as the first rays of sun appear, or so the story goes.
People may do all kinds of things to try and keep them away and keeping the fire going during this time is considered one of the main ways to stop them entering the house.
They are also leave bowls of sweets out because everyone knows that the Kallikantzari love sweets and this will keep them busy and hopefully stop those playing naughty tricks on the family. What do the Kallikantzari look like? Well descriptions of these creatures of the underworld vary from area to area but they are supposed to be smelly, hairy and have feet similar to goats.

The author, Carl Norac is belgian but he lives in France, near our school.
