A Greek story about Saint Dimitrios

Saint Dimitrios was an officer in the Roman army in 290 AD. He was a Christian and tried to disseminate Christianism in Thessaloniki. Emperor Maximianus learnt about his acts and put him in prison. Maximianus organised a wrestling competition, bringing a very strong wrestler, named Lyaios. Nestor, who was a Christian asked St Dimitrios´s blessing to fight with Lyaios. St Dimitrios blessed him and Nestor fought him calling Dimitrius´s God, help me. He won but Maximianus, surprised and angry ordered his soldiers to kill Dimitrios and Nestor. We celebrate Dimitrios´memory on 26th September and Nestor´s on 27th.
