Autumn in France

To celebrate the autumn first, we have chosen a poem : « Monsieur Automne ».
The author, Carl Norac is belgian but he lives in France, near our school.
Monsieur Automne,
J’ai rencontré Monsieur Automne
Il portait un costume d’homme
Dont les feuilles tombaient, tombaient
Quand il riait, quand il riait. Je connais bien Monsieur Automne
Son parfum de vent et de pomme
Une main froide, l’autre chauffée
Au dernier souvenir d’été. Monsieur Automne n’est pas triste
Hier je l’ai vu en artiste
Repeindre les bois en couleur,
Du brun d’écorce au rouge coeur.
Carl NORAC
He talk about place of autumn between summer and winter.
We have represented autumn with leaf and wood. We have painted the sheet in grey like the rain.
At the end, we have planted acorn. Now, we are waiting for our oak trees !!

The 1 and 2 November are very special to us because they are dedicated to our dead. All we go to the cemetery to bring flowers and candles for our loved ones.
Many Italian authors have dedicated their works to this event, among them we remember Antonio De Curtis known as Totò.

In this season, many activities are linked to the fruits that the Autumn brings us. Today we went to visit a vineyard for a closer look at the vintage and....
Do you Know the origin of the grape?
According to an ancient Italian legend....
Many years ago, the vines not produced grapes. It was an ornamental plant, like many others. At the center of a small vegetable garden grew a beautiful life full of branches and leaves. This magnificent plants receive plenty of sunlight and derived great benefit The branches of the vine longer and longer over turf seeded and covered them with their shadows. The gardener was concerned - Even plants need sun - he said to himself. - I must prune the vine. On a gray and cloudy days, the gardener cutted vigorously the branches longer of the beautiful ornamental plant and took away the large leaves from the other branches. The lives they suffered and wept. When evening came, a nightingale perched delicately on a branch of the vine began to sing to comfort her. His singing was so sweet, that the plant experienced a feeling of well being His tears soak of sweetness and remained there, on branches as small pearls. The night slowly fades away, the appearance of the day the sun wrapped the vine with its soft and warm rays. Then, as by magic the plant feel sap flow in a new whether . Her tears, like beautiful pearls, began to transform itself small fruits: the first grapes. A playful breeze to quickly switch between the branches of the vine and gathered the grapes in clusters more or less large.

Dear girls and boys,
We want to tell you the story of a beautiful autumn fairytale you will enjoy it. It is entitled "The chestwoman".
This is the story of a Chestwoman. She was named Tana and she was a very nice woman. Children loved her because when they didn´t money she gave them the chestnuts as a present. They loved her too for things very funny. She explained wanderful tales. They closed their eyes and everything seemed true.
Tana waited happily the arrival of the autumn. When the leaves of the trees became golden colour, the wind blows hardly and leaves dance cracy in the countries. Then Tana dressed up like a Chestnut woman, with a bell-shaped skirt, a tight shirt and a headscarf on the head. She sat on her chair and started to roast chestnuts. Chestnuts roasted slowly leaving a delicious smell arround them. "Buy!" "Buy roasted chestnuts!" "hot chestnunts"! Shouted Tana.
At night, when the cold began to be harder the Chestnut woman went back home. A little house but very beautiful. There, She prepared the chestnuts for the next day.
Tana waited impatient the day of "All Saints" because it was the day she sold more chestnuts. At night lots of families celebrated thhe party eating marzipan and roasted chestnuts.
But some days before the party, a strange woman with an angry face went into Tana's house and stole all the chestnuts. After, she went out running. She was another chestnut woman, a sad and bad-tempered woman. She was jaleous of Tana because children loved her and on the other hand children didn´t buy her chestnuts and they didn´t give her their smiles as present.
What sad Tana was! She sat near the fire and cried and cried until she was aslept. And see what happened...
Children, as each day on the way to school bought chestnuts to Tana, but that day, when they noticed she wasn´t there, they run to her home. They found her crying and very cold. She explained them what happened. Children want to help her, then they borke their piggy banks joined all the money and bought a sac of raw chestnuts. Imagine the happiness of Tana when she saw she had chestnuts to roast. She gave them lots of hugs and very touched she said: -" You are the more beautiful children in the world".
While, the jaleous chestnut woman roasted the stolen chestnuts they began to jump and exploit making a horrible noise. Frightened people run away form there. - "this is a punish because I stole the chestnuts", she thought and she went to sorry to Tana. She forgave her with affection and form that moment they were good friends.
And do you know what happend next...?
Children decided to buy her chestnuts too and give her their smiles as present. From that day, she never was sad again and...

The fall

Autunno
Fall
Fall the leaves blown by the wind
looks at the child and is happy
this dance improvisation
that lies flat on the lawn.
Runs the child and collects
can finally touch the leaves
reddish yellow and orange
are the colors of this season.
Here autumn is back!
they say it leaves, trees, lawn
da Una scuola intorno a noi, edizi. Tresei

Foglie gialle
Ma dove ve ne andate,
povere foglie gialle,
come tante farfalle spensierate?
Venite da lontano o da vicino?
Da un bosco o da un giardino?
E non sentite la malinconia
del vento stesso che vi porta via ?
Yellow leaves
But where you go,
poor yellow leaves,
like so many carefree butterflies?
Come from afar or close up?
From a forest or a garden?
And do not feel the gloom
the wind itself that takes you away?
